We have some interesting friends here in Florida. There is however a certain distance between neighbours. Because the area we live in is new and fairly transient people do not have the opportunity to get to know their neighbours. We know all the people who live immediately around us but others do not. We have had a friendly relationship with the folks living on each side of our house.They do not know each other so Theresa and I are planning a dinner tomorrow evening and inviting them to come and mingle.
Both of these neighbours are in real estate and have some things in common. I am sure we will have a great evening.We have a neighbourhood watch program and it works well and I am sure we will get to know all of our small block community well. People here are very friendly but because we are a bedroom community people drive to work and by the time they get home there is little time to socialize.
We hope that our visit tomorrow turns out to be the first of more get togethers with our neighbours and we get to share our many interesting backgrounds. Our wish is this is just a move in the right direction.
What a great idea and effort. I think your neighbours will come away from dinner feeling more connected to one another ... all part of one human family, Take lots of pictures.
