Since the end of November we have not had much rain. In fact from Xmas to now there is less than an inch of recorded rain. Grass fires are popping up and some forest fires grew in size to thousands of acres. Theresa and I heard that there was a possibility of some rain this week so we wished for a full rainfall to get things back on tract. In light of the good news that rain was on the way I laid the weed and feed down, covered my front and back yard with ant poison and cut the grass short along with whipper snipping.
At 10pm last eve Theresa and I decided to sit out as the temperature was 80. You could feel the humidity but there was not a cloud in the sky nor a breath of wind. Move ahead to 2 am and with a crash and bang, followed by thunderous rain on the roof and a light show so intense that one lightening strike was intermingled with another. Thunder roared for hours and we got up and I sat outside to see the show.
Our pool was getting low from the heat and I planned to fill it but mother nature did the job. The rain filled our pool to the very top. Five inches for sure and a clear sigh of the amount of rain was the swales or ditches along our streets were quickly filled. This out burst by the great provider was just what we needed but for some it was a terrifying night. By 8am it was still dark as night but almost as quickly as it started the sun came out and by 10am it was 80, clear and sunny. That is Florida. Be careful what you wish for as you might get it, I am thankful we did.
Yep, that would fill the pool. Rainy season is coming for us pretty soon, once it warms up and quits snowing.
