Lots of Wind

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN OCTOBER 29, 2012

We have been accustomed to a lot of wind from the politicians at all levels for the past year. Big noise from the super pacs with plenty of the green stuff to spend without any concern for honest content. Some of the adds that the presidential candidates authorized are disgraceful.

Mother Nature got so fed up with the crap coming by way of the election she decided to give the people something real to talk about. She put together a massive storm involving 23 states and mixed up wind, rain, snow and flooding to create havoc with the election.

The candidates fearing the Bush effect of not being concerned about this national disaster decided to call off their campaigning to take advantage of the national publicity gained  from doing the correct thing. When Bush flew over New Orleans during the Katrina fiasco he lost much creditability because he did not land and make a personal presence. We knew later he did not wish to distract the rescue efforts by his presence and that was the right thing but the people there wanted their leader to be by their side as he was during 911.

It is refreshing to see the news media change gear and dominate the airways to keep everyone informed and to have a break from the big wind created by the politicians.
