Staging

Daughter Darlene is a professional stager. Theresa and I are staging our house for sale and we are taking the course by experience. Every day (day 1 ) we begin by trying to hide the personal items which might give prospective buyers that real people actually lived here..

Shoes; we have 20 pair, actually Theresa has 20 pair. How do you hide that many shoes? There are many items that show that we have some interest in life that have to be unseen. Furniture becomes sterile but perfectly placed to show no one actually uses it .

The pool is so clean and none of the toys that make swimming in the water so enjoyable have to be out of sight. Actually the pool looks like it is a fixture ready for a picture. The garden area is so devoid of shovels and instruments of agriculture that one would wonder how all the vegetables grew without weeds and look so good.

Selling a loved property is so emotional that when you take the real items out of the equation I would wonder why anyone would want to buy it. If that is what it takes to sell .....so be it.
